I made a new cover. I posted it on Tumblr because SoundCloud blocked it as copyrighted material (Tumblr did too, that's why I added silence to the beginning). Leave Out All the Rest, by Linkin Park, covered with Kagamine Len.
New this time: mixed in Audacity (it's all I need for basic vocal mixing), discovered SynthV's tools for editing timing/strength of phonemes, customizing vibrato, and other parameters and features. This one didn't need too much tweaking but one of the others I'm working on has made a huge improvement using those tools. I'm glad I came back to SynthV. One day I want to figure out how to use other virtual instruments and make my own backing tracks; I don't think it's hard at the basic level--especially since I have experience with programming vocal synthesizers--but I haven't had the time.
Clearly, this is not a normal cover. I would like to thank SynthV, Python, and FFmpeg for making this possible, lol. I shelved this project in 2023 and then started learning to code in 2024 and realized this year that I could write a script to help me with it. I had spent so many hours processing files by hand before and wasn't sure it would even work. The script made all my hard work look like a joke. I love scripting.
I guess it only makes sense that the songs I want to cover with him are largely those I was listening to when I was 11-13. I have a few that are mostly or partially done and lots more planned. I'm excited to work on them when I have time!
