I made a new cover. I posted it on Tumblr because SoundCloud blocked it as copyrighted material (Tumblr did too, that's why I added silence to the beginning). Leave Out All the Rest, originally by Linkin Park, covered with Kagamine Len.

New this time: mixed in Audacity (it's all I need for basic vocal mixing), discovered SynthV's tools for editing timing/strength of phonemes, customizing vibrato, and other parameters and features. This one didn't need too much tweaking but one of the others I'm working on has made a huge improvement using those tools. I'm glad I came back to SynthV. One day I want to figure out how to use other virtual instruments and make my own backing tracks; I don't think it's hard at the basic level--especially since I have experience with programming vocal synthesizers--but I haven't had the time.

You might be able to guess the "special technique" I used to make this. I'm really happy with it; I make these covers for myself, and this is how I want them to sound, plus the task is peanuts for my laptop. It's been a long time coming after I shelved the project in 2023. When I returned to it this year, I had the determination to make it possible, but after pouring many hours into processing files, I realized I could write a Python script to do it for me in seconds with FFmpeg, and that was a total lifesaver.

I guess it only makes sense that the songs I want to cover with him are largely those I was listening to when I was 11-13. I have a few that are mostly or partially done and lots more planned. I'm excited to work on them!
